SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Retooling the Church: Dr. Clay Quarterman has written a book that encourages us as believers to explore our spiritual gifts for the benefit of the Church and our own joy. The book is broad in the sense that it speaks not only to the biblical and theological foundation for understanding the gifts, but also our motivations for this important topic. Many fear or avoid the subject because of the way they have seen discovery exercises used in the past. But Dr. Quarterman cautions us, "If we ignore spiritual gifts, we are disregarding the very means God has provided for our growth. This book is meant to help re-form our understanding and put these gifts to their proper use, retooling the church for action."

Discerning and Exercising Spiritual Gifts, Tim Keller: This quick read gets straight to the meat of the questions most have about spiritual gifts. "Leadership is stewardship—the cultivation of resources for God. The Bible tells us one of the main resources God has given us is our gifts, aptitudes, talents, and abilities. Christian leaders faithfully steward the gifts they receive from the Holy Spirit, and they help those they lead to do the same."
