Samples of Team Covenants
Below you will find samples of team covenants, and templates for writing a team covenant. The first template, Team Covenant Extensive, has the most potential content. The one labled Team Covenant Compact is a template that fits easily on one page. Then we hope to expand the list of actual team covenants so that one might see how they are practically used on different teams.
Some teams prefer a covenant of broad topics briefly stated. This has the advantage of being quick to read and remember. A more extensive covenant, while seeming unwieldy and unnecessarily long, has the advantage of surfacing specific areas that might be overlooked otherwise.
Whether short or long, focused or broad, the key is that it be used. In order to be effective, there must be a proactive introduction to the team covenant for every new member, AND it should be surfaced periodically asking the question, "How are we doing?" With out this practical application, it is a waste of time.

Team Covenant Template Extensive: This is a template that seeks to offer the broadest list of examples of elements of team covenants. You may note that it also seeks to embrace MTW organizational mission, vision, values and ministry commitments.
Team Covenant Template Compact: This template is compact and fits on one page. While it might not address all the issues of a longer team covenant, it is easier to read and remember.
